The S\u00fcmeg Castle is one of the most beautiful fortresses of the country in a relatively preserved state that is located on a lonely peak amidst the Balaton-Highlands\u2019 neighbouring scenery on the western side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The core of the tripartite fortress was built in the 1260\u2019s as the old tower\u2019s base level. The walls of the citadel were made a century later, surrounded by the strong protective layer of walls made in front of the highlands in the 15th Century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The famous castle\u2019s Historical Eventhall is serving as the location for the Historical Tournament in the Castle\u2019s front at the Historical Eventpark providing a medieval-like mood for the visitors. Read more about the programs on the website of the castle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As one of the locations for the National Castle Program, starting from 2020 renovations are taking place as the Eastern wing, the Csabi-tower and the connecting corridor gets rebuilt.
